StoneSync

System Integration: Connect Data with DDL

StoneSync is our framework for custom data and system integration, whether SQL Server, ODBC, SQLite or legacy system. Not an off-the-shelf product, but tailored integration with custom field mapping and data conversion.

Benefits

What StoneSync does

From local database to cloud, without switching systems. StoneSync is individually adapted to existing infrastructure, delivering real integration instead of rough automation.

Bidirectional synchronization

Changes in both directions: local scanner data to cloud, cloud changes back to local database.

Slab scanner integration

Automatic import of slab scan images from photo booths and inline scanners.

Block photo upload

Multiple block photos per block, automatically synced from local folder structure to DDL.

Any source system

SQL Server, ODBC, SQLite or proprietary legacy systems: connection to existing databases, including field mapping, data conversion and ID resolution.

Zero-overwrite protection

Scanner-measured dimensions are NEVER overwritten by cloud data. Local precision data stays protected.

Automatic restart

Runs as a background process, auto-restarts if interrupted via Windows Task Scheduler.

Workflow

How StoneSync works

From system analysis to continuous synchronization, the integration is handled end to end.

1

System analysis

Analysis of the local database, interfaces and data formats, whether SQL Server, ODBC, SQLite or legacy system.

2

Custom field mapping

Configuration of field mapping between source system and DDL, conversion of data formats and resolution of ID conflicts.

3

Test run & sign-off

Initial sync in dry-run mode: results are reviewed before data goes live.

4

Always in sync

After sign-off, StoneSync runs automatically in the background and keeps everything in sync. Auto-restarts if interrupted.

Upload scan images and photos automatically

StoneSync monitors configurable local paths and automatically uploads new slab scan images to the DDL cloud. Block photos are synced from the folder structure.

  • Slab scan images from configurable local paths
  • Path remapping for network drives and different drive letters
  • MD5 deduplication: only changed images are uploaded
  • Support for inline scanners and photo booths
  • Block photos from local folder structure

Change detection and custom field mapping

StoneSync detects changes in your local database and only syncs changed records. The integration is individually adapted to your database schema and field structure.

  • Change detection adapted to your database system
  • Only changed records are synced
  • Full field mapping, individually adapted to your schema
  • Material, color and finish ID mapping to DDL
  • Product types: Blocks, Slabs, Tiles
  • Cascading changes: material rename re-syncs all related slabs
DRY-RUN ZERO-OW NO LOOP RESTART LOG STATE

Deploy safely, run reliably

StoneSync was built for continuous operation. Multiple safety mechanisms protect data and prevent unintended changes.

  • Dry-run mode for safe initial deployment
  • Zero-overwrite protection for scanner dimensions
  • Infinite loop prevention (sync-originated changes are filtered out)
  • Auto-restart via Windows Task Scheduler
  • State persistence across restarts
  • Log export for troubleshooting
FAQ

Frequently asked questions about StoneSync

Which databases are supported?
Any system: SQL Server, ODBC connectors, SQLite, proprietary legacy databases. StoneSync is not an off-the-shelf product but our integration boilerplate that we tailor to your specific target system. A piece of custom development always goes in, this is what makes it real integration rather than rough automation.
How does the setup process work?
We analyze your system, configure field mapping and data conversion, and test in dry-run mode. The effort depends on the complexity of your source system, it is a joint integration project, not a self-service setup.
What happens with conflicts?
Zero-overwrite protection safeguards scanner data. Cloud changes are only applied when they do not overwrite valid local data.
Does StoneSync need to run continuously?
Yes, StoneSync runs as a background process and syncs every 60 seconds. If interrupted, it restarts automatically.

Integration, not isolation

No matter what system is in use today, the bridge to DDL can be built. In a personal conversation, the existing infrastructure is analyzed and StoneSync is individually tailored to the system.
